New Social Security Rules The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015, signed into law on November 2, changes the rules for claiming Social Security benefits. The new law eliminates the ability of most future retirees to exercise the creative claiming strategies known as “file and suspend” and “filing a restricted claim for spousal benefits” Surprising Medicare Rules and Costs

As retiree health care costs continue to rise, Medicare may become the next frontier for financial advisers. Much like Social Security has become a key element of retirement income, Medicare costs represent a growing share of retirees’ expenses. Tax-efficient Retirement Income Future retirees who have stashed the bulk of their savings in traditional retirement accounts may be in for a rude awakening. Withdrawals from traditional IRAs, 401(k)s and similar retirement accounts are fully taxable at ordinary income tax rates. Continue reading all of the write ups here
