FPA SF Mentorship Program:

FPA-SF has an active mentorship program, where mentors and mentees are matched.  If anyone is interested in being a mentor or a mentee or both please contact S. Nasira Iqbal, Career Development Committee OR Steve Schwegel, Mentorship Program Chair.  More details are on our FPA – SF chapter website: https://www.fpasf.org/careers/mentorship-program/

-Why mentoring? & what does it do?

– It’s a powerful personal development and empowerment tool
– And an effective way of helping people to progress in their careers
– It mutually benefits both parties – Mentees & Mentors

-For Mentors:

  • It improves your leadership skills
  • It can also be a nice challenge, inspire and enlighten you in unexpected ways
  • And you are helping our community
  • It can be personally satisfying

-For Mentees:

  • You get a career coach
  • Get support and new ways of thinking and guidance
  • Mentoring allows you to focus on how you can forward your career and overcome work related issues.

Those are just some few benefits  but there is much more to it, so please be involved in the mentorship program and support each other.
The Emerging Advisors Forum Meeting – May 26th at 6:00

The Emerging Advisors Forum is a group of planners who meet throughout the year to discuss all things related to running an RIA firm.

The group not only provides networking opportunities, but also features speakers who share their insights on industry best practices on a variety of topics. While these topics generally focus on starting or running an RIA, anyone interested in increasing their own productivity could find value in attending.

Our first meeting of the year will coincide with FPA NorCal and is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th at 6pm at 101 Montgomery. Our speaker will be Alan Moore, co-founder of the XY Planning Network and president of Serenity Financial Consulting. Alan is a rising star in our industry and was recently recognized by Investment News as a Top 40 under 40 in financial planning and Top 10 to Watch in 2015 by wealthmanagement.com. This event will be an open forum Q&A session focusing on starting a firm, maximizing efficiency working away from your physical office, and ways to effectively engage younger clientele. Alan is also speaking at FPA NorCal on leveraging technology to improve your firm and is happy to discuss that information in greater detail during our event.

A guest list is required for the venue so please RSVP if you are interested in attending. More information will be posted on the Emerging Advisors Forum linkedin group page. We are really excited about having Alan speak to our group and hope to see you there.
