According to Charity Navigator, charitable giving totaled over $350 billion in 2013 in the U.S., or about 2% of GDP.  Increasingly, there are many more ways to give and do good beyond the traditional donations.  Donor-advised funds have greatly increased the ease and reach of giving.  Public agencies are partnering with private foundations to support social programs such as affordable housing. Chapter News Reminder – Volunteer Registration is Still Open for Financial Planning Day

We would like to remind you that volunteer registration is open for the 5th annual Financial Planning Day in San Francisco. The event will be held on Saturday, October 25th from 9AM to 4PM at the Main branch at Civic Center of the San Francisco Public Library.Once again this year, we’re looking for volunteers who are interested in providing one-on-one counseling to individuals and families, many of whom have never had the opportunity to meet with a planner before. We also need volunteers who can speak other languages such as Spanish, Tagalog, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Please indicate any languages you speak when registering. Click here for complete details
