What is the FPA?
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is the largest membership organization for CFP® professionals in the U.S. and is also open to non-CFP® professionals who support the financial planning process. Working in alliance with academic leaders, legislative and regulatory bodies, financial services firms and consumer interest organizations, FPA helps connect all in our membership through a variety of unique and compelling ways. FPA members adhere to the highest standards of professional competence, ethical conduct and clear, complete disclosure to those they serve. FPA membership consists of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERS™, educators, financial services professionals, students and more; FPA is compensation neutral and represents those from diverse backgrounds and business models. FPA’s unique network of nationwide chapters encourage professional development and networking on a local level.
The local chapter provides our members with continuing education and networking opportunities with professionals in the San Francisco area.

FPA NexGen Picnic
NexGen members from all of the Bay Area chapters are invited to join the NexGen Community for a fun day in the Presidio of San Francisco. We have reserved space at the Presidio Tunnel Tops where we will be playing lawn games and networking with fellow NexGen FPA members. The NexGen Community, whether you are just starting your working career or you are a career changer, is a vital part of the Financial Planning Association. So please join us as we continue to strengthen our community and the future of the FPA.

Volunteer Networking + Pro Bono Training Event
We are excited to be holding the Annual Bay Area Financial Planning Day back in the SF Main Public Library this year! In celebration of our wonderful pro bono community getting back in person, we will be holding a networking and pro bono training event on September 25th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The first 45 minutes of the event will be networking over snacks and beverages. The second half of the event will be a training session, led by our very own pro bono extraordinaire, Nasira Iqbal. This session is approved for 1 hour of CE.
