Financial Planning Day 2014 at the San Francisco Public Library was a great success! Read on for a recap of this great event:

Every member of the community can point to new ways to improve the event and quantity of advice given, but I think it is important for everyone to rejoice in the superior quality of the event and undeniable appreciation of the attendees.

This year we had a larger auditorium for our programs which allowed us to bring in national and local speakers Kelvin Boston, Brian Nieser, and Saundra Davis. We were also able to incorporate our FPA members and leaders with a presentation on Tax and an Investment Panel.

We were able to hold an Estate Planning Workshop for the second year, which empowered attendees to create and execute a Will, Durable Power of Attorney, and Advanced Medical Directive. They were also educated on the additional Estate Documents that may be more helpful and specific to their lives.

Lastly, it would be a shame not to recognize the many partners who were able to come and volunteer their Saturday. In additional to the 45+ FPA members who provided 1-on-1 financial planning advice, there were several CPAs and Consumer Credit Counselors who were able to provide more specialized advice. For those who are not yet qualified to meet with a client 1-on-1, we had approximately 15 volunteers, including some NexGen advisors, who were integral to the logistics of the day.

It was a great day and wonderful event! The steering committee is eagerly looking forward to next year and all opportunities for improvement.
